Google is expanding its Personal Intelligence feature in AI Mode that delivers context-aware and personalized responses. The feature is now going a step ahead by bringing support for Google Calendar in AI Mode.
Robby Stein, VP of Product for Google Search, announced on X that "Personal Intelligence in Search now connects to Google Calendar!" It is currently available in the United States with expansion in more countries to come soon.
Unlike previous integrations with Gmail and Google Photos, the Calendar connections allow AI Mode not only to reference existing information but also to create calendar events directly from meeting invitations or other scheduling requests.
What Benefits Does the Calendar Integration Offer?
With this update, users will be able to add invites or other meetings to their Calendar directly from the AI Mode. Alongside this, users get tailored AI responses that work best with their existing schedules. The Calendar integration builds on Google's vision of making Search more personal by combining web knowledge with user's own context.
Calendar adds a different perspective tied to timing rather than interests. For example, ask AI Mode for dinner spots, with Calendar connected; the answers will show whether the time slots are already booked.
Google first previewed this capability during Google I/O 2026. It initially launched Personal Intelligence for Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers in January. Then it expanded to nearly 200 countries and territories in 98 languages, with no subscription required.
Entering into A New Era of Personalized Search
The addition of Google Calendar highlights Google's push towards personalized AI-powered search experience. One of the noteworthy aspects is that you can stay in control while connecting Calendar to Search, as the feature is completely opt-in. Meaning if you choose, you can connect Calendar to Search and turn it off anytime you wish to.
However, the growing reliance on personal context also raises questions regarding measuring and verifying AI-generated Search results. As Google continues expanding Personal Intelligence, Search is becoming more adaptive, contextual, and tailored to individual needs rather than delivering identical answers to every user.
