WhatsApp, the Meta-owned messaging platform, has recently launched a new and interactive feature for its large user base. The new feature, “Schedule Calls,” lets users easily schedule group calls on WhatsApp. To make things organized, you need a proper schedule, or in other words, effective management, and the update aims for the same.
It doesn’t matter if you’re planning to have a quick call with your family or schedule a meeting with colleagues; this feature works right. As stated by WhatsApp in a press release published on 18th August, “You can schedule calls and invite people or groups to join beforehand by pressing the button in your Calls tab > Schedule call.”
Call Management Made Simple with the Calls Tab
Another significant enhancement can be seen in the Calls Tab. The Calls Tab allows you to view and manage all the upcoming calls. Also, there are shareable call links that can be added to your calendar or shared with anyone you wish to. Call participants receive an alert when the call is about to start. All these upgrades ensure smooth call management.
Interactive Features for Users
Users can now enjoy a more seamless interaction during calls. One of the most notable features is the raise hand option, which allows participants to signal their desire to talk during the call simply. Additionally, the emoji reaction enables users to respond quickly without interrupting the chat. Alongside the emoji reaction, users can react quickly without interrupting the conversation. Indeed, helpful during lengthy discussions or when the number of participants is larger.
This new launch by WhatsApp presents intense competition with other video-telecommunication services, such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. WhatsApp has indeed met the long-pending request from users regarding call scheduling. Regarding privacy, as usual, all calls on WhatsApp support end-to-end encryption.
