GPT 4.1 Features to Look Out For:

Coding: With a 54.6% score on SWE-bench Verified, GPT-4.1 is highly capable of revolving coding challenges, addressing front-end coding, and having limited possibilities for extraneous edits.

Vision: The latest OpenAI model includes advanced image understanding abilities, which evidently outperforms the previous models.

Instruction Following: GPT-4.1 attained a 38.3% score on the instruction following benchmark, Scale’s MultiChallenge, reflecting high performance.

Long Context: GPT-4.1 scored 72% on the multimodal long context assessment benchmark, Video-MME. The accomplishment makes it an appropriate model for processing large codebases.

How to Use OpenAI’s Latest Model?

The GPT-4.1 flagship is available for paid members of ChatGPT as of now. It is easily accessible for Plus, Pro, and Team accounts. However, the free users will continue using GPT-4o till further announcements. Hence, to use the newest OpenAI GPT-4.1 models, users need to subscribe to the paid version.

For developers, GPT-4.1 is available on the OpenAI API. The firm is positioning the latest AI models as the most powerful and cost-effective algorithms so far, specifically designed for developers and engineers to enhance their code. The pricing structures for the OpenAI GPT-4.1 flagship include input costs starting from $2/million tokens. On the other hand, for the nano version, the input costs start at just $0.10/million tokens. Notably, OpenAI hasn’t mentioned anything about GPT-4.1 Nano, the fastest, smallest, and cheapest model, in the recent announcement.
