Cognizant and Google Cloud expand partnership to accelerate enterprise adoption of agentic AI by introducing the new Gemini Frontier Capability Group. This initiative is supported by more than 18,000 dedicated Cognizant associates, and it brings together Google's full-stack, enterprise-ready AI platform with Cognizant's engineering expertise as an AI builder.
The new group represents a collaboration and builds on the momentum created by Cognizant’s dedicated Gemini Enterprise practice announced in April 2026. Additionally, it bridges the gap from pilot to production by deploying secure, reliable, enterprise-ready AI agents that help maximize business value.
What are Leaders Saying About the Partnership?
According to Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar, “Establishing our dedicated Gemini Frontier Capability Group lets our best frontier engineering talent focus entirely on getting frontier AI into production for clients.”
He also said, regarding the “Build with Gemini workshop that gave over 55,000 associates the experience directly, earning them tangible skills on one of the world’s most advanced AI platforms, and this new group is where that experience goes to work every day.” Further, Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, said, “The partnership will help joint customers accelerate the adoption of autonomous agents."
Key Focus Areas of Gemini Frontier Capability Group
To meet growing enterprise demand for AI execution, the group will deliver production-grade AI solutions that drive standout business outcomes for global enterprises using Gemini, Google Cloud’s AI platform. It will initially focus on its engineering capabilities across legacy modernization, developer experience, autonomous business process agentification, and frontier cyber defense.
To support these capabilities, the companies plan to implement standardized, security-first agentic architecture built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and enhanced by Google Cloud's Model Armor. These frameworks are expected to enable a new suite of collaborative, production-ready enterprise solutions, including Cognizant's Catalog Support Agent (CSA) for retail, the Neuro San-orchestrated Healthcare Agentic Marketplace, and multi-agent Order-to-Cash (O2C) workflows for manufacturing.
Scaling Gemini Across the Workforce
Group denotes the shared commitment by Google Cloud and Cognizant to improve client execution through Frontier Certified Engineers. Regarding the actual implementation, Cognizant has reported productivity improvements from integrating Gemini models across its software development lifecycle for a top retailer. The implementation increased developer productivity by 40%, reduced time-to-market by 30%, and cut costs by 35%.
In July, Cognizant announced it is deploying Gemini to 100,000 associates this year, with plans to scale to 200,000. The expanded partnership highlights the focus on combining enterprise AI platforms, specialized engineering teams, and workforce training to scale agentic AI from experimentation into real-world business operations.
