Google Search Back Online After Rare Global Outage Hits Thousands of Users Globally

The tech giant Google faced a rare global service outage across India, the US, and other regions on Tuesday morning, during which thousands of users faced issues accessing Google Search.

However, Google search was back online after being unavailable to users for a short-time period. This indicates that Google immediately began resolving the issue and restored the service quickly to avoid further disruptions worldwide.

What Issues did Users Experience during the Outage?

Some users faced issues such as “Server Error” messages, blank pages, and failed searches when accessing Google Search on both desktop and mobile devices.

According to Downdetector reports, the disruption started around 10.23 AM IST and generated around 3,300 complaints within a short time. The below graph highlights the outage reports from India.

The Error Message Seen to Users

The below error message was seen during the global outage:

“Server error. We’re sorry, but it appears that there has been an internal server error while processing your request. Our engineers have been notified and are working to resolve the issue. Please try again later.”

Users Showed Up on Social Media

Many users started posting screenshots of rare disruptions on social media. As Google goes down, it creates buzz on the internet, as users browse this platform almost every second.

Gradually, around 11.05 AM IST, the reported issues declined to 464. The issue was identified as “500 Internal Server Error,” which indicates server related issues rather than issues with the internet connections.

Google has not yet shared any official statement regarding the cause of the outage. Alongside, the Google Search Status dashboard states “No Incidents.” Check out the below image for reference:

The section usually shows active or recently occurred incidents. This means, this was a short-live outage which was not reflected in the status dashboard.
